Aiyanar:
The God Aiyanar holds an important position in local villages
all around Tamil Nadu. Aiyanar worship represents a non-learned,
non Brahmanical form of worship. Often Aiyanar is depicted
riding on a white horse fighting against demons that are
threatening the village. |

Aiyappan:
Every year a large number of pilgrims assemble on and
around the Sabari mountain in the jungles of Southern Kerala. In
1999 more than ten million people went there on the 14th of January. |
